Here you find Tapioca Pearls from Thai brand Cock. These are larger version of the tapioca balls, which normally come in smaller appearance. Tapioca pearls are made from tapioca starch, the white powder obtained from cassava roots. Tapioca pearls are also called bobas or tapioca balls. Tapioca Pearls achieve world fame through its presence in the Chinese drink called bubble tea. Though naturally in white colour, the tapioca pearls can be transformed into a variety of colour by adding ingredients. They are also used as pudding thickeners. Tapioca pearls are very popular and widely used in East Asian and South East Asian cuisines.
Boil water in a pan, then add tapioca pearls. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Then simmer for another 10 minutes or until the pearls turn translucent. Stir occasionally so they don’t stick to the bottom of pan.
