Extracted from the powdery coating of annatto (Achuete/Achiote) seeds, annatto powder imparts a mildly sweet, nutty flavor and an appetizing color ranging from yellow-orange to red-orange (depending on the quantity used) to a variety of dishes.
Used to color food and as a spice. Produces a range of warm orange shades. It has a bittersweet taste with tones of nutmeg and mint. Seeds and powder are often added to oils to flavor and color them.
Ingredients: Annatto extract 73%, corn starch.
