Unirice parboiled rice is a greater source of fiber than regular rice due to special processing.
The parboiled rice has a light brown color before it is cooked. This is due to the unique pre-processing (parboiling), whereby the vitamins and nutrients naturally present in rice are largely preserved.
Preparation
- Wash the rice in plenty of water, drain.
- Bring a large pot of water to the boil.
- While stirring, add the rice and salt to taste if necessary).
- Bring to the boil again, stir briefly and let it simmer in a closed pan for 10 minutes.
- Drain (use a sieve or colander).
